In October wines from Pen\u00ednsula de Set\u00fabal, Algarve, D\u00e3o and Douro will be tasted during thematic wine tastings in Lisbon and Porto. The events will be attended by oenologists and wine experts. Lisbon Tasting Room will host the “Wines of Portugal Challenge of 2017 – Pen\u00ednsula de Set\u00fabal and Algarve” on 6 October. This event will be commented by the winemaker Jaime Quendera, who will present a selection of wines from the Pen\u00ednsula de Set\u00fabal and Algarve medalists in the Wines of Portugal Challenge of 2017, the most important Portuguese wine competition promoted by ViniPortugal. The journalist Maria Jo\u00e3o Almeida will comment a special wine tasting called Wines of D\u00e3o “Wines of Character and Elegance”, on October 13 at 6:30 pm in Lisbon Tatsing Room. Developed in partnership with the CVR of D\u00e3o, this event will give you a taste of memorable wines with an unusual capacity for gastronomic harmonization. Recognized as the region of Touriga Nacional and Encruzado, D\u00e3o produces deeply elegant wines that reveal an enormous potential for aging. In October at Porto Tasting Room, ViniPortugal invites you to participate in two events dedicated to two excellent wine regions: D\u00e3o and Douro. On October 20, at 6:30 p.m., the wine tasting called “Wines of Portugal Challenge of 2017 – Douro” will be presented by the winemaker Manuel Lobo who will introduce a selection of wines awarded with Grand Gold, Gold and Best Red Wine Blend of the Year. On October 27th, at 6:30 p.m., it is the turn of the “V\u00e3o do D\u00e3o” event, “The New Spirit of an Old Region”, promoted in partnership with the CVR of D\u00e3o. During the event commented by the journalist Manuel Carvalho, will be presented a selection of wines from emblematic producers of the D\u00e3o as well as new projects from this wine region. The selected producers share a secular history in D\u00e3o wine region and the unique production conditions that result in great wines. In the Wines of Portugal Tasting Rooms, located at Terreiro do Pa\u00e7o, in Lisbon, and at Pal\u00e1cio da Bolsa in Oporto, it\u2019s possible to discover and taste wines from all over the country, from North to South of Portugal, and experience the unique character of the Portuguese wines and their distinctive characteristics, visible from region to region. The ViniPortugal Tasting Rooms can be visited from Monday to Saturday, from 11am to 7pm, without prior appointment. In Lisbon you can still visit on Sunday. The Tasting Rooms host special wine tastings on weekends with renowned oenologists and wine producers, promoted by ViniPortugal.
