Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde white wines from the 2016 harvest of will be on the spotlight next 10th of March at 6:30 pm in the Lisbon Tasting Room. The event will present the miscellaneous portfolio of this producer that has the support of Rui Reguinga as an oenologist. The initiative is organized by ViniPortugal, together with Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde. Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde states that \u201cWine is born of the Earth. Every wine has its own personality. Each terroir in Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde is a challenge. Each wine is the expression of a unique marriage of terroir, grape variety, blend and vintage, inspired by the knowledge of generations.\u201d This passion for land is shared in every bottle of wine and olive oil produced by Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde. The history of Pa\u00e7o do Conde Estate goes back to the end of the century XIV, having been mentioned since 1378 in the beginnings of the Kingdom of Portugal. Much of the “Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde” is located between the vestiges of an old Roman castle next to the Guadiana and the ancient Roman city of “Vilares”. The Herdade Pa\u00e7o do Conde has belonged to the same family for more than three centuries. Founded in 1928 with the name Sociedade Agr\u00edcola Pa\u00e7o do Conde, is one of the oldest agricultural enterprises in the country. The management is ensured by the current owners, Jos\u00e9 Ant\u00f3nio Ferr\u00e3o Castelo Branco, Luis Miguel Ferr\u00e3o Castelo Branco and Maria Lu\u00edsa Castelo Branco Schmidt, grandchildren of the founder. Planting began in 1995, after choosing areas with the right soil, exposure to the sun and vine variety. In the 3,000 hectares of the Estate, in addition to the 210 hectares of vines and the 1.700 hectares of olive groves, the Herdade enjoys the benefits of fields of wheat, sunflower, corn, orchards, as well as natural and sewn pastures. Diversity of species and cultivation enable the coexistence of traditional species of flora and fauna, a harmony which is reflected in the wines and olive oil of Herdade Paco do Conde.
