Its main purposes are to represent its members – wineries and wine cooperatives, and their unions – and to defend the wine cooperative sector at all levels, both nationally and internationally.
a) According to the statutes, its purpose and objectives are:
· Propose, in conjunction with the relevant government departments, measures for the sector and participate in defining general wine-growing policy.
· Promote progress and improvement in the sector through all means, including courses, lectures, etc.
· Promote the development of its members, providing them with all necessary information and ensuring compliance with rules that prevent unfair competition or violations of cooperative principles.
· Seek to inform and guide its members on domestic and foreign trade policy.
· Provide technical and legal assistance through its services.
· Participate in defining and implementing credit policy related to the overall development of its members.
· Represent its members in national and international organizations of interest to the sector.
· Promote the necessary studies and define collective solutions on issues of general interest, particularly with regard to labor contracting.
· Propose and promote the establishment of a general insurance scheme suitable for the effective coverage of risks arising from its activity and the activity of the sector.
b) Activities:
· Technical support, namely all matters related to the application of the Common Market Organization (CMO), national legislation, etc.
· General meetings of member wineries, where all aspects of the wine and agricultural sector in general are discussed.
· Vocational training courses in viticulture.
· Professional training courses on “Hygiene in Oenology” and “Tasting Defects” in collaboration with the Higher Institute of Agronomy.
· Seminar on “Wine company certification.”
· Colloquium on “Industrial Licensing.”
· Colloquium with CONFAGRI on “The revision of the Wine CMO.”
· Various information campaigns on the revision of the wine market organization.
· Information sessions on Harvest and Production Declarations.
· Organization of Bottled Wine and Cooperative Winery Label Competitions.
· Representation at trade fairs, namely:
