The Decanter, one of the best wine magazines in the world, selected two Portuguese wines to try over the festive season.

Decanter’s tasting team has chosen 34 interesting wines to taste during the festive season. The Wine & Soul , Pintas Character from Douro region (2010) integrates the list of the this year selected wines, with 92 points. This wine is produced from Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional vines and the grapes are fermented in traditional granite lagares. The result is powerful and rich: an enjoyable wine which reveals nice velvety tanins with a refreshing acidity. The wine Falua, Tercius Touriga Nacional (2011) from Tejo region is also part of the “34 Festive Buys”, with 89 points. This wine is produced under the warm climate of Tejo region and the cool breezes from the Atlantic Ocean. The blueberry, blackberry and vanilla sweet scents are compensated by the chocolate and clove scents. The Decanter magazine’s experts recommend 4,000 wines a year. This is a must read for all wine lovers, from the amateur enthusiast to the serious collector.
