Founded in 1996, ViniPortugal is the Interprofessional Organisation of Portuguese Wine, recognised by order of the Ministry of Agriculture, and is the managing entity of the Wines of Portugal brand. Its mission is to promote the quality and excellence of Portuguese wines.

Portuguese wines awarded in Sparkling wine competition

Portuguese wines achieved three medals in the Effervescents du Monde® last edition, a competition about the world’s best sparkling wines.

Marquês de Marialva Tinto Bruto Reserva 2010 from Adega Cooperativa de Cantanhede and Cartuxa Évora Bruto 2009 from Fundação Eugénio de Almeida got the gold medals. Quinta da Lapa Espumante Bruto 2011 from Agrovia Sociedade Agro-Pecuária obtained a silver medal. The 11th edition of Effervescents du Monde® competition, organized by the French association “Forum Oenologie” has brought together in Dijon more than 100 international expert judges to taste 594 wines from 28 countries between 13th and 15th November, 2013.
